Ethnic Minority Achievement Unit (EMAU)
Children who have English as an additional language are well supported by the Ethnic Minority Achievement Unit in our school. Progress in accessing the curriculum for these pupils is an outstanding feature. There is close collaboration with mainstream subject teachers and there are effective methods for teaching English and other subjects to EAL pupils through in-class support from EMAU staff. Regardless of culture, race, ethnicity or academic ability, pupils work well alongside each other. Recognition and respect of diversity in the school and its community are a strong feature in our school. Religious festivals and activities of ethnic minority pupils are celebrated which enrich the life and work of the School.
