Healthy Schools National Award
Previous years have seen the school successfully complete the five Phases of Health Promotion Scheme.
In 2011, we achieved the prestigious National Award in which the scheme focuses on seven key areas of Health Promotion, namely Food and Fitness, Safety, Environment, Relationships, Substance Use and Misuse, Hygiene and Mental and Emotional Health and Well-being with a strong aim to continue previous health-related successes.
Eco Schools - Green Flag
Our school is one of many that is participating in the Eco- Schools programme. This is an international scheme that is intended to make eco issues more relevant to the day to day lives of our children. The scheme is divided into eight key areas - Litter, Waste Minimisation, Transport, Healthy Living, Energy, Water, School Grounds and Global Citizenship.
We have achieved the Bronze and Silver standard and in July 2010 we gained the top eco award, the Green Flag.
Quality Mark - Basic Skills Award 3
In 2007 we achieve the 3rd element of Quality Mark. This element focused on target setting and we exemplified excellent standards in this aspect of school life.
Investors in People
In April 2011 we set the standard and for Investors in People. Our efforts we rewarded with yet again another plaque for the wall!
We are proud to have achieved the Active Marc Cymru accreditation. This proves that as a school we demonstrate a commitment to developing high quality PE and School Sport. Upon committing to the application of this award the school engaged in a process of self evaluation whereby strengths and areas for development were identified in accordance to the old Estyn framework based on the 7 key questions.
