      Rights Respecting      Schools

UNICEF is the world's leading organisation working for children and their rights.  In 1989, Governments worldwide promised all children the same rights by adopting the UN Convention for the Rights of the Child.  These rights are based on what the child needs to survive, grow, participate and fulfil their potential.  They apply equally to every child, regardless of who they are, or where they are from.

UNICEF UK's Rights Respecting School Award (RRSA) is an initiative leading to an award, which recognises achievement in putting the Convention at the heart of the school's planning, policies, practices and ethos.

At Christchurch Primary School we are taking steps to becoming a Rights Respecting School.
