Trip to House of Lord’s September 2016

Two pupils and a member of staff were honoured with an invitation to a private celebration in the House of Lords, London, to celebrate the growing success of a local charity: Lawrence’s roundabout well appeal.

Bishopston Comprehensive school has actively fundraised for this charity over the last two years and the water awareness campaign has been run by a small working group of pupils: Olivia Harman Cashmore, William Harman Cashmore, Isobel Stead, Rhys Harris and Tia Phillips and their teacher Kay Khanniche. They have run presentations, water awareness events such as the water relay race and whole school events including cake sales and the ‘wear blue day’.

The trip to the House of Lords in London, was a fantastic experience for the representatives of the group (Rhys Harris and Olivia Harman Cashmore) and an inspiration to the ESDGC group to continue their fantastic efforts in their water campaign.
