The Eco Schools programme is an international initiative which provides a framework to support sustainable development in schools. The Eco-Schools process is holistic. It works by involving the whole school - pupils, teachers, non-teaching staff and governors - together with members of the local community - parents, the local authority, the media and local organisations and businesses.

It encourages team work and helps to create a shared understanding of what is needed in order to run a school in a way that respects and enhances the environment.

There are different levels of the award, the Brnze Certificate, Silver Certificate and finally the much coveted Green Flag Award.  We currently hold the Green Flag Award and are working towards out third Green Flag, which we hope to achieve this school year.

Eco Club meets on a weekly basis and we undertake a range of activities, as detailed in our Eco Action Plan.  Eco Club offers the children a myriad of opportunities to develop their skills and understanding, while learning about their environment and the wider world.
