The amount of activity in school has picked up this week.  Year 6JM have been taking their cycling proficiency all week.  They have undertaken lots of cycling drills and been out on the road on numerous occasions.  I am delighted to report that all participants passed the test successfully.  It is the turn of Y6CJ next week and I am sure they will do equally as well.

Year 5 went on a visit to the World War 2 exhibition in Swansea Bay on Monday.  It proved to be a fascinating experience and the children returned very enthused to learn more about this Topic over the coming weeks.

We have been very fortunate to have members of the Welsh netball team in school this afternoon, coaching Year 5 & 6 girls.  They taught the girls a number of skills and led a number of different games.  The girls learned a great deal from our visitors and had a most enjoyable afternoon.  We are grateful to the team members for giving so generously of their time and hopefully inspiring the next generation of young players.

The Week Ahead

Monday sees Year 4 having rugby coaching with the Rugby Development Officer.  Year 3 are having Chinese classes with a Chinese teacher on the same day.  The children are learning about the culture of China and also a little bit of Chinese.

Year 2 'Meet the Teacher' is being held on Tuesday evening at 5 p.m., with Year 1 'Meet the Teacher' on Wednesday at the same time.  Please do come along to meet your child's teacher and hear them talk about the year ahead.

Year 5 are visiting Swansea University on Wednesday for a Science and Energy Lecture in the Grove Theatre.  This promises to be a most interesting and informative experience.
