KS2 Sports was postponed due to the weather on Tuesday (rearranged dates on Portal) but the Years 5 & 6 Kids of Steel Triathlon went ahead in very challenging conditions. The children pushed through the wind, rain and mud to complete the event and seemed to enjoy it very much! Well done everybody - a fantastic effort.
The Wales Air Ambulance unexpectedly landed on our school field today. The team had been called out to an accident in Sketty and our field was the closest, flattest piece of grass to land on. Seeing and hear the helicopter land caused a lot of excitement. The paramedics and crew were very professional and the incident was a reminder of the incredible work that they, and indeed all medical professionals, do. Our thoughts are with the person injured in the accident.
Year 6 have their Leavers' Party at Swansea Uplands Rugby Club this evening. There were a lot of very excited boys and girls in school today! They certainly travelled in style, on a double decker London bus.
The Week Ahead
Year 6 have their Induction days in Olchfa, Bishopston and Bishop Gore Secondary Schools next week. I am sure the children will benefit greatly from the transition days.
There is a joint choir concert (school choir and Swansea Excelsior Ladies' Choir) in school on Thursday evening, starting at 7 p.m. It promises to be a super evening of entertainment. Tickets are available to buy from the school office.
Staying on the choral theme, Swansea Male Voice Choir are setting up a children's choir in September and are looking for children to participate. Parent Mr Chris Foxall and fellow organiser Mrs Mair Davies visited us this week to talk to the children about the plans. Singing is a strong feature of the school and this is a super opportunity for the children to learn skills, make new friends and have a lot of fun.
The School Summer Fayre is next Friday evening; from 6.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. It promises to be a very busy and enjoyable evening. Preparations by the P.T.A. are well in hand. We hope the weather is kind and look forward to seeing you there.
Have a nice weekend.
