'Building a culture of community in schools'
Pentrechwyth is a Restorative Practice school. We use the 'restorative practice' approach, to ensure every child has the best chance to further their learning in the school.
Part of the 'restorative practice' approach is to hold daily 'check-in' and 'check-out' sessions at the start and end of each day. Pupils are given opportunities to tell their peers how they are feeling and why, and any issues that arise can be dealt with early in the day.
The aim of the approach is to help and equip all children with the skills and strategies they need to manage their behaviour at school. In addition, to our 'Keeping on Track' behaviour protocol, staff use the RP approach and key questions to ensure a consistent approach to managing behaviour at school.
