Year 2

LETTERS

Dear Year 2 Parents,

The theme for this term is ‘Journeys’. The first half-term we are going on ‘A Journey around the World’’ and the second half-term we are learning about ‘Transport – Old and New’. With this in mind, if you or any other family member would like to come to school and speak about or demonstrate any profession, hobby or any other skill you may have, connected with the two themes, please let me know as soon as possible. Children learn, enjoy and respond very well to visits and visitors! Also, if you have any books, models or photographs of countries or modes of transport etc that we could borrow for the term they will be very useful.

This term the children will be setting up and running their own Ice cream Shop. They will encounter many aspects of the curriculum, especially maths. They will be ordering, advertising and selling Joe’s icecream every Friday at a very reasonable price! All the money raised will be given to a charity of their choice at the end of term.

Attached to this letter is the term planner. A detailed visit letter and consent form will follow shortly.

Please can your child bring their P.E. kit and trainers to school on Wednesday instead of Friday this week?

In the meantime, if you have any questions about your child’s education and progress please do not hesitate to come and see me.

Many thanks for your continued support.

Mrs Morgan
