Class information

Our topic this term is Lego Superheroes!

We will enjoy learning a wide variety of skills during this topic such as designing and making superhero costumes, performing travel sequences in PE and building our very own Superhero Lego Land.  In Maths we will be focusing on counting, reading and writing numbers, using ordinal numbers and finding halves and doubles of numbers.  We will also be comparing numbers and working on addition and subtraction. In English we will be looking at posters, labelling and diearies as well as continuing with our oracy, reading and writing skills.

During the term we will also be assessing the children against the Foundation Phase Profile.  This will involve carrying out a range of fun activities that cover Mathematical, Literacy, Physical and Social skills.

Meet the teacher

We will be holding a 'Meet the Teacher' evening of Wednesday 13th September.  Further details will be provided shortly.

Library Books

Your child will have the opportunity to visit the School library.  They will choose a book that they would like to take home to read with their family.  When they are ready for a new book to enjoy they will need to return their current book to school.  Children will not be able to choose another book from the library unless the current book is returned.

Contact Details

Can you please ensure that we have up-to-date contact details for you and that your inform us of any changes as soon as possible.

Could you ensure that all your child's clothing is named.  If anything does go missing we will try our very best to locate it for you.

Your child will need their P.E. kits on Mondays.  They will need a pair of shorts and a t-shirt.  They can either birng them in each week or keep them in a named bag on their coat peg in the cloakroom.

Fruit Money

Your child will be given a choice of fresh fruit every day.  If you would like your child to have fruit it will cost 25p a day or  £1.25 for a week.

Your child will be given homework every Friday.  This may involve a practical activity to complete on their own or with your help or it may be an activity which will allow your child to practise something that they have been learning about in class.

Your child will recieve sound cards, words or a reading book which they will need to practise with your at home.  Please can you return these to school when you feel that they are confident in reading them.
