Dear Year 3 parents and guardians,

Welcome back to school to you and your children. My name is Mr Matthews and I have the pleasure of being your child’s class teacher for the next school year. The children will be supported in their learning by Miss Williams. We are both looking forward to doing all we can to support you and your children’s education. Our learning topic for this term is Dragons! This should be a very exciting topic for everyone involved. Spelling lists are given out on Mondays and we test spellings each Friday. Please support your child with spellings at home, as well as reading regularly and supporting homework such as times tables.

Times of the Day

The school day starts promptly at 8.50am, so please ensure you bring your child to the junior side of the yard before this time. The school day ends at 3.20; again please ensure you are here promptly to collect your child.

School Uniform

All children are expected to wear the school uniform. Please contact the school office if you need this, and ensure all items are clearly labelled with names.

Lunch

At lunchtime your child can eat either a packed lunch provided by yourself or a school meal. The school meals must now be paid for using the online portal sQuid. Please see the school office for further information.

Fruit

Each day the school allows the children the option of buying a fresh fruit snack. The cost of this is 25p per day. Pupils bring in money and buy on the day in the hall if they want to.

Meet you Teacher

On Wednesday 13th September is an opportunity for you to meet me and discuss the year ahead. Further information will follow.

P.E.

PE (Physical Education) is an important part of the national curriculum and therefore all children are expected to bring in suitable clothing for this lesson. In Year 3 we have PE each Monday, so for this day please ensure your child brings the appropriate clothing, including suitable footwear such as plimsolls or trainers.

We are hoping this will be a very exciting start to Key Stage 2 for your child. Any questions please do not hesitate to contact me via Class Dojo or simply after school.
