                                    NEW GORS LOGONURSERY/MEITHRINbutterfly

Dear parents,

I am delighted that to introduce myself as the nursery teacher this year. I have lots of exciting activities planned making learning fun for your children. My aim is to provide a safe learning environment for the children to learn and flourish. I hope you and your child have had a lovely holiday and are ready for a busy year ahead.

This newsletter will give you some information about our class routines and what we are going to get up to this term. I am looking forward to getting to know each and every one of your children and help them settle into school. However I understand that they (and you) maybe nervous so please do not hesitate to come and see me if you have any problems or questions, my door is always open.

Kind regards, Mrs Wilson J

Our learning

We will be learning our sounds through Jolly Phonics. Jolly Phonics are songs that help with the pronunciation of the sounds and helps us learn the alphabet. If you would like to look at this in the summer you can find them on youtube-

Our topic this term: This term our topic is going to be ‘All about me’ looking at who the children are things that are important to them. The children will be given the opportunity explore their likes, dislikes and share their opinions. As part of this topic, I would love it if they could bring in a photo or two that tell me a little bit about themselves such as photos of family, or of things that they enjoy doing.

P.E. We will be doing PE on a Wednesday. The children will need to wear appropriate clothing- t-shirt, shorts/joggers and a pair of trainers.

Fruit and Milk

Fruit and milk: Each day your child is provided with milk. They will also have fruit. The cost is £1. per week that needs to be paid on a Monday and sent in an named envelope.

Please can you make sure that you put your child’s name on everything that you send into school, bags, coats, jumpers etc to ensure that they don’t get lost. I know that when your child first starts school we may have a few accidents, so if you feel it’s appropriate please could you provide your child with spare clothing.

Please remember as we move into Autumn the weather will change, please ensure your children wear appropriate clothing to go outside- a warm coat, hat and scarf.

Twitter is a great way for you to get insight in our school week. We will try and regularly update it to inform you about what your children have been up to! Take a look- @gorsc
