Dear parents,

I hope you have all had a lovely half term. This term is short and sweet but is going to be just as busy and exciting!!! This term we have lots to take part in with the whole school. On March 1st it is St David’s Day the children can come dressed in red or a Welsh costume to celebrate. The last week of term we will be enjoying Easter celebrations. For Easter the children can create a bonnet to join in our Easter bonnet parade. They can also ‘decorate an egg’ if they wish, don’t forget this must be a hard-boiled egg which they can decorate as their favourite story character(s). The eggs need to be brought into school by the 26th March ready for our Easter celebration assembly.

If you have any questions or queries please come and see me any time, my door is always open!

Kind regards,

Mrs Wilson

Our topic this term

This term our topic is continuing as Traditional tales, we are going to be looking at ‘The Gingerbread Man’ story. The children are going to making some gingerbread men looking at what ingredients they will need. We will be looking at the different characters in the story and the habitats they live in. Also we will have to compare the size of the various animals.  If your child has a favourite animal and would like to bring in a picture to show us then we would love to see them

We will be doing PE on a Wednesday. The children will need to wear appropriate clothing- t-shirt, shorts/joggers and a pair of trainers.

Fruit and milk

Each day your child is provided with milk. They will also have fruit. The cost is £1 per week that needs to be paid on a Monday and sent in a named envelope.

Please can you make sure that you put your child’s name on everything that you send into school, bags, coats, jumpers etc to ensure that they don’t get lost.   I know that when your child is in school we may have a few accidents, so if you feel it’s appropriate please could you provide your child with spare clothing.

Class Dojo

We are using class dojo as a way of communicating effectively. It worked well during last term and I will continue to use it this term. If you are not yet on dojo please let me know and I will give you the details on how to join!

Twitter is a great way for you to get insight in our school week. We will try and regularly update it to inform you about what your children have been up to! Take a look- @gorsc

Please remember as we move into Spring the weather can be unpredictable, please ensure your children wear appropriate clothing to go outside- a warm coat, hat and scarf. Don’t forget to label them!

Spare clothes

Dear parents,

In school we have a small collection of spare clothes that we lend to children when needed, if your child has borrowed clothes from the school we would be very grateful if you could ensure that they are returned as soon as possible.

We would really appreciate any donations of any clothing that your child no longer needs.

Thank you for your continued support.
