Dear parents,

I hope you have all enjoyed a lovely half term break and are all ready to begin this exciting and very busy term! Last term the children worked very hard and had lots of fun, I’m sure this term is going to be no different. We are excited to enter the Christmas term where we will be doing lots of fun activities to get us in the festive spirt! This year the Christmas concert for Nursery is on Monday 18th December at 5pm and Tuesday 19th December at 1.30pm. As part of our morning in Nursery we will still be going out to have fun in the garden no matter what the weather, so if you have any spare pairs of wellies you are happy to leave in school for them to use please send them in!

Kind regards,

Mrs Wilson J

Our topic this term

This term our topic is creative colours, each week we will be concentrating on one colour. Using our investigation skills we will see what we can find out about each colour. We will be hunting for descriptive words that describe all the beautiful colours of the rainbow! Each week I will send a message on dojo to let you know which colour we are looking at and if your child would like to bring something in and share it with their friends please do so!

Our learning

We are working hard learning our sounds through Jolly Phonics. Jolly Phonics uses songs that help with the pronunciation of the sounds and helps us learn the alphabet. If you would like to look at home too you can find them on youtube-

We will be doing PE on a Wednesday. The children will need to wear appropriate clothing- t-shirt, shorts/joggers and a pair of trainers.

Fruit and milk

Each day your child is provided with milk. They will also have fruit. The cost is £1 per week that needs to be paid on a Monday and sent in a named envelope.

Please can you make sure that you put your child’s name on everything that you send into school, bags, coats, jumpers etc to ensure that they don’t get lost.

I know that when your child starts school we may have a few accidents, so if you feel it’s appropriate please could you provide your child with spare clothing.

Twitter is a great way for you to get insight in our school week. We will try and regularly update it to inform you about what your children have been up to! Take a look- @gorsc

Please remember as we move into Autumn the weather will change, please ensure your children wear appropriate clothing to go outside- a warm coat, hat and scarf. Don’t forget to label them!

Spare clothes

Dear parents,

In school we have a small collection of spare clothes that we lend to children when needed, if your child has borrowed clothes from the school we would be very grateful if you could ensure that they are returned as soon as possible.

We would really appreciate any donations of any clothing that your child no longer needs.

Thank you for your continued support.
