Welcome to Year 5

Croeso i Blwyddyn 5

A huge welcome to the Year 5 information page from Mr W and Miss Taylor!  Here is an outline of all that you'll need to survive in Year 5 – You are in for a fun filled year! Enjoy!

General Information

  • Reading book to be brought in on your table’s reading day.  Bring it everyday if possible!
  • Maths work based on current topic on a Wednesday handed in by following Friday
  • Spelling words given on a Monday with a check up on following Friday.
  • English homework given as appropriate
  • Other homework linked to topics

P.E. Days:

Wednesday: (indoor) tracksuit, shorts and trainers

Thursday: (outdoor) tracksuits and trainers

Please make sure that you wear sensible clothing for each of our PE sessions - including swimming which will be in the spring term for Year 5.

 Water Bottles:

Can your child bring in a bottle of fresh drinking water daily, NOT squash or juice, as it helps with concentration when they are fully hydrated which impacts on school work.

Coats and Uniforms:

It would help our stress levels if all clothes are clearly labelled.

We both hope the above information is helpful but please be aware that it's neither exhaustive nor rigid and that some changes are inevitable. If there are any aspects of your child's education that you wish to discuss please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind Regards,

Mr W and Miss Taylor
