Dear Parent/Carer,

40th Anniversary of School Opening

Bishopston Comprehensive School opened in 1976 and we would like to celebrate its 40th anniversary by holding a family open day on Saturday, July 2nd inviting past pupils, former and current members of staff and other associates of the school.

We are provisionally discussing opening the school for senior staff led tours that would take place every half hour from 11am to 3pm, followed by an outdoor concert featuring past and present pupils (mini Choir and String Quartet have already requested slots) and also a hog roast/barbecue with light refreshments.

We have a number of volunteers from the staff and PTA who will form the ‘organising committee’ for this event.

We would like to enquire if there are any parents/carers who have any useful contacts with regard to marquees, inflatables, summer fete activities/games etc that would add to the day. We would appreciate any advice and support to make the day a real success. Please contact the school office and the information will be passed on to the ‘organising committee’, who will be in contact with you as soon as possible.

We will keep you updated with the preparations as they progress over the next few months.

Many thanks in anticipation.
