Welcome to Mr Middleton's Year 5 class
Croeso i ddosbarth Mr Middleton
Welcome. We are now fully into the summer term and as a class we are studying the continent of Africa and all of its wonders. This will involve an investigation into the various habitats and eco-systems; a look at the beliefs of the people and a study of the factors impacting on children in the countries that make up the continent. It is certainly going to be a very busy term and we are all excited about the challenges that lay ahead.
A few reminders for the term:
PE is every Tuesday, please make sure you bring your kit to school (including trainers). No jewellery for safety reasons.
You can bring a water bottle to school which is to be kept in your bag incase you need a drink throughout the day.
Reading books will be sent home daily. Please read at home as much as possible and write what you have read in your reading journal – yes you can write in your journal as well as your parents! Guided reading sessions will take place each week and individual sessions every fortnight.
Literacy, numeracy and spelling homework will be given out every Friday and needs to be returned by the following Thursday (place in the homework tray Thursday morning for it to be marked).
School dinner money – please bring this to school on a Monday. We do ask that any money brought into school is placed in a secure envelope with your child's name and class on the front so that we know who it belongs to when it gets sent to the office and incase it gets lost.
Fruit money – you can bring fruit money daily to buy fruit during break times. Fruit costs 20p and you must keep this safe to prevent loss.
Parents - please sign up to class dojo so that if you have any questions or simply want to find out how your child is doing in school you can do so using this amazing app!
