Welcome to Miss Morgan's Y5 class
Croeso i ddosbarth Miss Morgan
Welcome to the summer term, we are really looking forward to starting our new topic 'Africa'. Within this topic we will be learning about contrasting localities, the interdependence of living organisms and contrasting environements, animals and food chains, African art and many more interesting and exciting topics.
A few reminders for the term:
Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) sessions will be held on Wednesday afternoons.
PE is every Tuesday, please make sure you bring your kit to school (including trainers). No jewellery for safety reasons.
You can bring a water bottle to school which is to be kept in your bag incase you need a drink throughout the day.
Reading books will be sent home daily. Please read at home as much as possible and write what you have read in your reading journal – yes you can write in your journal as well as your parents! Guided reading sessions will take place each week and individual sessions every fortnight.
Literacy, numeracy and spelling homework will be given out every Friday and needs to be returned by the following Thursday (place in the homework tray Thursday morning for it to be marked).
We are looking forward to some exciting visits and experiences this year, letters will be sent out which contain all the information you need to know nearer to the date of the visit/experience.
School dinner money – please bring this to school on a Monday. We do ask that any money brought into school is placed in a secure envelope with your name and class on the front so that we know who it belongs to when it gets sent to the office and incase it gets lost.
Fruit money – you can bring fruit money daily to buy fruit during break times. Fruit costs 20p and you must keep this safe to prevent loss.
Parents - please sign up to class dojo so that if you have any questions or simply want to find out how your child is doing in school you can do so using this amazing app!
